Here Comes the Bride: Wedding Etiquette

As the one tasked to be with the Bride literally more than the groom on her wedding day, thought it might be fun to go over some wedding etiquette. This was spurred by fellow wedding photographer, Ray Prevost, who posted an image from a recent wedding:

Each little red arrow represents a guest’s camera – 16 in all. Ray is quoted as saying:

“What they are not looking at, and witnessing, and enjoying, and taking a mental image of, is the bride walking down the aisle with her dad. They are all missing it! And this is the image the bride will receive—not smiling friendly faces—happy to see her so happy. Instead, a bunch of people looking down.”

So from the article entitled Here Comes the Bride: Wedding Etiquette we encourage all of our brides to remind their guests:

Don’t take photographs during the ceremony. Respect the sanctity of the ritual and leave photography to the professionals.
